SAME PLACE

Il luogo dove vivono e si muovono i soggetti che ho fotografato è senza dubbio la strada, che è anche il luogo dove fotografo solitamente. Quel teatro nel quale il quotidiano si compie e da origine ad infiniti spunti. Paradossalmente però in questo progetto dal titolo “LO STESSO POSTO”, dove il luogo e l’ambiente sono in qualche modo determinanti ai fini realizzativi, ho scelto di raccontare un altro posto. Un posto più “fisico” più legato alle persone incontrate e ritratte, un posto, sempre lo stesso, “l’occhio sinistro”, nel quale le persone avevano applicato lo stesso oggetto: “un cerotto”.

La ripetizione, in questo caso, oltre ad essere visiva, a suo tempo era stata, senza dubbio, anche legata alle evidenti problematiche riscontrate dai soggetti, che quindi erano stati costretti ad indossare il cerotto stesso.

The place where the subjects I photographed live and move is doubtlessly the street – same place where I usually take photos, and stage where the everyday life takes place and offers countless cues.

Paradoxically, however, in this project titled ‘Same Place’, where location and environment are somewhat determined as a premise, I chose to show another ‘same place’. A more ‘physical’  location,  a place more related to the people I met and depicted: the place – always the left eye – where the persons I photographed wore the same object: an ‘eye patch’. The repetition, in this case, is visual but without doubt it is also the result of similar issues and conditions that firstly forced the subjects to cover their eye with a patch.
